The postal addressing system of the world is out dated. PSDNS is about bringing the power of the domain name system to the postal services of the globe. Instead of filling out several lines of text for your address on an envelope, on a form, or online, you would simply use your domain name. Your domain name already has a physical address associated with it. The postal service only needs to look-up your active physical address from your domain name and print your address or barcode back onto the envelope. Instead of having to update your address every time you move with hundreds of contacts, billing systems, banks, and business, you simply update the physical address associated with your domain name.
Most of the infrastructure required already exists. Domain name standards are setup internationally. The registrar system for updating domain name information is already established. Almost all businesses already have a domain name. The OCR capability of most postal services could easily handle DNS.
The savings to the global economy would be massive. The address update process would be eliminated. No more missed mail. Most addresses could fit in smaller form in databases and forms which equates to less time spent mindlessly entering data and more time being actually productive.
